Pumaren says TNT-B-Meg 'evenly matched'
MANILA, Philippines – Air21 Express head coach Franz Pumaren believes the Talk' N Text Tropang Texters and the B-Meg Llamados are “evenly matched” going into Game 1 of their best-of-seven PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals series tonight at the Araneta Coliseum.
In an interview on ANC’s Top Story, Pumaren said it was hard to predict who will win in the series because the two teams were “evenly matched.”
“The advantage right now is with B-Meg. They’re well-rested, and TNT is coming from a tiring, grueling, emotional series against Barako,” he said.
“I think it’s gonna be a collective effort on the part of TNT, and Coach Chot (Reyes) will use his bench a little bit more. Of course, the advantage of TNT is that they have been there. They have been in the finals in the last five conferences, and they are raring to be part of a dynasty and history,” Pumaren added.
The Texters are slightly favored against the Llamados, as they have the edge when it comes to the local line-up. TNT features former MVPs Jimmy Alapag and Kelly Williams, along with sparkplug gaurd Jason Castro.
But B-Meg is bolstered by its super import Denzel Bowles, who is a cinch to win Best Import honors. He is backed by two-time MVP James Yap, PJ Simon and Marc Pingris. Top Story, ANC, April 23, 2012.
