The US team had an emotionally draining season in 2011.
After struggling to make it to the World Cup – where expectations were the lowest ever for the pioneering program in the sport – the veteran team fought its way to the final against Japan, only to lose in the late moments of the game.
The US team opens group play of the 2012 Olympics with two games against France and Colombia before moving to Old Trafford in Manchester for a match against North Korea.
The final of the women’s competition will be at the end of the Games in Wembley Stadium. Mornings @ ANC, May 16, 2012.
