MANILA, Philippines – Dreams are going to come true tomorrow for a number of the best young basketball players in the United States when the NBA Rookie Draft gets underway.
University of Kentucky’s (UK) center-forward Anthony Davis is expected to be picked number one by the New Orleans Hornets.
But after Davis, analysts say it is going to be a free-for-all, with teams choosing either for their need or the best available player.
The teams could also opt to trade their pick to get an established star or veteran.
The Charlotte Bobcats own the number 2 pick, followed by the Washington Wizards.
Bradley Beal from the University of Florida, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist from the University of Kentucky, Thomas Robinson from the University of Kansas and Harrison Barnes from the University of North Carolina are expected to be in the top five. -- Dateline Philippines, ANC, June 28, 2012.
