Olympics a family affair for Japan trio
MANILA, Philippines – The competition at the London Olympics is already guaranteed to be intense, but three Japanese gymnasts may have an extra source of motivation as they vie for the gold: sibling rivalry.
Kazuhito Tanaka, 27-years-old, along with his sister Ree and brother Yusuke, are all set to make their Olympic debuts.
With the Tanakas, it is the first time Japan is sending three siblings to compete in gymnastics in the Olympics.
Kazuhito, also the team captain, will lead the men in their quest to recapture the all-around team gold, which they won in Athens in 2004, before taking the silver in Beijing in 2008.
In the individual categories, the men will be looking to take their first gold medal since 1984. -- Mornings @ ANC, July 4, 2012.
