MANILA, Philippines – Slovakia’s Peter Sagan accelerated away at the finish to win the third stage of the 2012 Tour de France.
The 197-kilometer journey was marred by crashes, but Sagan – who also won Stage 1 last Sunday – finished the trek in four hours, 42 minutes and 58 seconds.
Swiss Fabian Cancellara was fourth in the stage and retained the over-all leader’s yellow jersey.
Stage Four will cover 214 kilometers and will feature four "category four" climbs. -- Mornings @ ANC, July 4, 2012.
