MANILA, Philippines – Filipino Olympic athletes vowed to give their best efforts as the Philippines continues its quest for the country’s first ever gold medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The Filipino Olympians are already settling in various training camps in London, but admit they are now feeling the heat of the upcoming Games.
Over the weekend, the Olympians also acceded to the request of some Filipinos in London and embassy officials for an intimate meet-and-greet.
The Olympians said they are thankful for the kind gesture and support they get from the Filipinos in the United Kingdom, and asked for continued prayers from their countrymen back home.
The last batch of Olympians to complete the 11-man Philippine squad will arrive on July 20, while the 2012 Olympics will open on July 27. -- Mornings @ ANC, July 10, 2012.
