MANILA, Philippines – The National University Bulldogs posted their second straight victory with a 77-62 win over Adamson University Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Bulldogs got off to a quick start, led by 10 points at halftime, and cruised to victory in the second half as the Falcons struggled in the absence of star player Alex Nuyles.
The Bulldogs got a dominant performance from Emmanuel Mbe, who posted 20 points and 15 rebounds along with a couple of highlight-reel slam dunks.
Meanwhile, the Far Eastern University Tamaraws escaped with a 73-70 win over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons to earn a share of the lead in the men’s basketball tournament.
Terrence Romeo set a new career high of 24 points on top of nine rebounds and eight assists for another sterling all-around game.
With the win, the Tamaraws are now tied at the top of the UAAP standings with the defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles. Both teams now have 5-1 win-loss records. -- Mornings @ ANC, August 6, 2012.
