Gilas Pilipinas advanced to the semifinals of the FIBA Asia Cup in Tokyo after beating Chinese-Taipei on Thursday.

Gilas led only by one entering the final period, but a 17-4 run by the Nationals broke the game wide open.

Naturalized center Marcus Douthit led Gilas with 19 points and 18 rebounds.
