8,000 runners race in Bolivia's high-altitude 10K
MANILA, Philippines – Bolivians put doubts over high-altitude running to the test as thousands laced up for a 10-kilometer race at 3,600-meters above sea level in La Paz.
Some 8,000 runners and wheelchair racers participated in the event, proving athletes could train for sports even in the thin air of La Paz.
Eduardo Aruquipa, the winner of th 2010 and 2011 races, claimed victory again this year.
