MANILA, Philippines - In Rio de Janeiro, local authorities took members of the press on a day-long tour of various Olympic sites scattered across the city.
Rio's port are will house a number of Olympic venues, among them the media center and a main operations center.
Another venue being closely watched both nationally and internationally is Rio's legendary Maracana Stadium.
Renovation work started here in 2010 and it will also host matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Critics of the project say it has been a waste of taxpayer's money, going considerably over its original budget.
But the government insists the Olympic events will leave a positive legacy. -- Mornings @ ANC, November 20, 2012
