MANILA, Philippines – Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo was left to mull his own future after the team removed him, barely six months after leading them to the Champions League title.
Di Matteo was sacked following Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Juventus, which left the title-holders on the brink of elimination from the Champions League.
Chelsea are in third place in Group E, behind Shakhtar Donetsk and Juventus. They next face Danish club Nordsjaelland, but may still be eliminated even if they win depending on other results. -- Mornings @ ANC, November 22, 2012
