Murray: Tournament wins the focus, not top ranking
MANILA, Philippines – Winning tournaments – starting with next month’s Australian Open – is the major focus for Britain’s Andy Murray as he prepares for another grueling tennis season.
Two of the world’s top four begin their 2013 campaign in Abu Dhabi this week, with Murray and world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in action.
Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who has not played since June, was also scheduled to make his much-anticipated return, but withdrew due to illness.
Murray is the only one of the top four never to have been world No. 1, but it clearly is not something that bothers him as he eyes adding more majors to his US Open crown. -- Mornings @ ANC, December, 27, 2012
