Respite

Perhaps the cast of lead actors in our current pasyon as a nation might even be reflecting on two important themes of Lent: repentance and forgiveness. However, at this point, no one is asking for forgiveness, and no one is about to forgive without the repentance.

Black Saturday, Bleak Saturday

In the Christian world, Black Saturday provides the transition from death at Calvary to the dawn of resurrection. Is it the same for governance?

US waging economic war against China

Why have the prices of commodities like oil and gold risen so dramatically in the last year? Why has the dollar fallen so much? Normal business cycle? Bad management from the world’s financial institutions? And why hasn’t the world’s largest and strongest economy, backed by the most powerful government, been able to change the course of the situation? Speaking of success

In my mind I feel that if I make my success public I end up cornering myself and putting myself in a situation where future failure is not an option.

Election high in Malaysia

Malaysia is described in academic texts as a semi-democracy and as “neither authoritarian nor democratic”. The balance now seems to tilt in favor of democratic ideals (what a pity that ours is being pulled down towards the opposite). Slowly we see this movement away from the constrictions of race-based electoral voting pattern.

Finding and breaking in a successor

For you the entrepreneur, if successful, then there will be one less slash in your job description (un-cluttering your calling card) and one less voice in your psychic board room. If unsuccessful then…well…there’s always New Age mood music, home service massages, and good psychotherapists to spend your vacation money on.
