PATTAYA - A summit of Asian leaders in the Thai beach resort of Pattaya has been postponed after thousands of protesters stormed the venue, a government spokesman said Saturday.

"ASEAN leaders have reached the consensus that the meeting has to be postponed for the security of leaders. All the meetings have been postponed," Thai government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn told local television.

The 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was due to hold talks with the leaders of China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand over the weekend.
