PARIS - Countries where swine flu is confirmed or suspected:

MEXICO: Authorities say up to 81 people may have died from swine flu. Twenty deaths from the virus have so far been confirmed and Mexico City's mayor said Sunday there have been five more deaths. More than 1,320 people have been treated for symptoms and schools and official events have been cancelled in a bid to stop the spread of the disease.

UNITED STATES: US health authorities have confirmed 18 cases of swine flu, with eight New York school students the latest diagnosed. Another two are in Kansas, though one has recovered, and there were eight in California and Texas.

NEW ZEALAND: Ten students from an Auckland college who recently returned from Mexico have tested positive for influenza and are "likely" to have swine flu, Health Minister Tony Ryall said. Thirteen students and one teacher were kept in quarantine but most of those infected are recovering, he added.

ISRAEL: A 26-year-old Israeli man has been hospitalised upon returning from Mexico on suspicion of contracting swine flu, medical officials said. The man is in quarantine but the hospital director said it did not appear likely that swine flu was involved.

SPAIN: Three Spanish nationals have been placed in isolation after showing flu symptoms following a recent visit to Mexico, Health Minister Trinidad Jimenez said.

FRANCE: France on Sunday reported four suspected cases of swine flu among travellers returning from Mexico. Three members of a family from northern France and a woman from Paris were undergoing tests, said Francoise Weber, director of the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance.

BRITAIN: A British Airways flight attendant admitted to hospital in London with "flu-like symptoms" after a flight from Mexico City does not have swine flu, the hospital said Sunday. Two people have been admitted to hospital in Scotland with "mild flu-like symptoms" following their return from Mexico this week, the Scottish health secretary said.
